Privacy Policy

GlowMatch AI ("GlowMatch", "we", "us"), operated by Intelledata, provides AI-powered makeup shade matching through our website (glowmatch.beauty) and our mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Information you provide: your email address (when you request your results on the web or create an account) and, for app accounts, a password stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never store your plain password.
• Camera & photos: when you run a skin scan, we access your camera to capture an image used to analyze your skin tone. On the website, this analysis happens in your browser and the image is not uploaded. In the app, the image is sent to our server to compute your skin-tone profile and is stored only if you allow it (you can opt out).
• Derived skin data: values computed from your scan, such as CIE Lab color, undertone, and Fitzpatrick skin type.
• Your content: saved looks and the shades you follow for discontinuation alerts.
• Device & usage data: push-notification tokens (only if you enable notifications), plus technical data like device type, app version, and usage events collected through analytics and error-monitoring tools.

How we use your information

• Provide shade matches and generate AI-curated looks.
• Send discontinuation alerts and the emails you request.
• Operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
• Understand usage in aggregate so we can make GlowMatch better.

Face and skin data

The skin scan captures a photo of your face using your device camera. From that image GlowMatch extracts a single representative skin color (an average tone) and derives values such as CIE Lab color, undertone, and Fitzpatrick skin type. GlowMatch does not create a faceprint, perform facial recognition, or use the image to identify you, and it does not derive or store any biometric identifiers.

This data is used solely to match foundation shades to your skin tone and to generate look suggestions. The face image is never shared with third parties and is never used for advertising; only the derived, non-identifying skin values (never the image itself) may be sent to our AI provider to generate a look. On the website, the image is analyzed in your browser and is never uploaded. In the app, the image is sent to our server for analysis and is stored only if you opt in; if you opt out, it is analyzed and then discarded. Any face image or derived skin data we retain is kept only while your account is active and is permanently deleted when you delete your account (Profile → Delete account). Data is stored on our backend infrastructure in the United States.

AI-generated looks

What is shared and with whom. When you use the app's Look Curator, GlowMatch sends your skin-tone profile — color values (CIE Lab), undertone, skin type, and the occasion you choose — to OpenAI, a third-party AI provider, to generate a personalized look. Your photo is never sent.

How it is collected and used. This data is derived from your skin scan (see "Face and skin data" above) and is used only to generate the look you request. The app asks for your permission before this data is sent, the feature is optional, and you can decline.

Third-party protection. OpenAI processes this data under its own privacy and security commitments, which provide protection equivalent to this policy, and — per OpenAI's API data-usage policy — does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that run GlowMatch on our behalf: cloud hosting (Render, Vercel), databases (Supabase, MongoDB Atlas, Upstash, Pinecone), email delivery (Resend), AI look generation (OpenAI), product analytics (PostHog), and error monitoring (Sentry). These providers may process data in the United States.

Affiliate links

Some product links (labeled "Shop") are affiliate links: if you click through and make a purchase, GlowMatch may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow these links you leave GlowMatch and become subject to the retailer's own privacy policy and terms.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account, which removes your account, scans, saved looks, and alerts. To delete data associated with an email you submitted on the web, email us at hello@glowmatch.beauty.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@glowmatch.beauty.

Children

GlowMatch is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
